Now that we’ve stopped spammers who steal your content through your RSS son, it’s time to fight those who make a simple copy / paste your articles in their site. So yes, it is not technically possible to block them completely, but it will help you fight spammers.

When spammers copy / paste images directly your images in the Notes, then these images make calls to functions hotlinking wiki-icon on your web server. To avoid this, two solutions, either through digital watermarking your images, watermarking, either through your .htaccess file.

Start with the watermarking your images. A foolproof method is to proceed with watermarking your images before sending them on your web server. To digitally sign your images, nothing more simple, use a program like FastStone Photo Resizer in-url. FastStone Photo Resizer is a simple and free tool … who could ask for more? 🙂 I am against a far from knowing all other software in this area. If you also know in very good and free license, do benefit everyone. Another method is to apply a watermark on the fly. Install phpThumb in-url, insert a small piece of code that will resize your images on the fly and apply watermarks. Copy / Paste the following code in your functions.php file, having phpThumb drop in your theme folder. Download image as your digital watermarking and think to change the URL of thème.Vous can also change the size of the digital watermarking which is here 590.

<! -? php function ImageResizer ($ atts, $ content = null) { return ”; } add_shortcode (‘img’, ‘ImageResizer’); I need regular.>

Here’s how to do with the added piece of code, here’s how the process. Download image as usual and insert the URL of the image between [img] and [/ img].

Of course, we can always disable hotlinking adding the following piece of code, altering the three lines and five:

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond% {HTTP_REFERER}! ^ $
RewriteCond% {HTTP_REFERER} ^ http: // (www.) Yourdomain.com /.*$ [NC]?
#RewriteRule (Gif | jpg) $ – [F].
RewriteRule. (Gif | jpg) $ http://www.yourdomain.com/advert.jpg [R, L]
